Artist Blog

I just watched a program on Ovation about the relationship between Picasso and Matisse. I found myself freezing the frame to study the art work and rewinding in order to hear again what was said. The show was inspiring and I plan to watch it again.

Artist Blog

Every method for painting has a reason. If I have a limited time to paint, its alla prima time or a quick sketch from life, but they still must be planned for, and then executed differently than the paintings that are painting over several sessions.

Artist blog

Many of my paintings are depictions of familiar places and parts of my daily visual landscape. While painting these common spaces I try to describe the beauty and charm of the specific location, they also provided me with an opportunity to examine technical painterly issues. I find inspiration for some of my works when riding my motorcycle ,out in the country. In these canvas's I invite the viewer to share the things and places that catch my eye and with a small effort, maybe see the wonder with me.
