My confidence in portraying my ideas in paint have increased over this last year. I want to paint my subjects in both moments of mystery as well as directness.
When portraying the figure or the portrait my goal is to engage the viewer into the sensation of having just walked in on the subject, maybe in a moment of introspective thought. They would make eye contact, imagine a person and a painting making eye contact. It will be quite a challenge to have the viewer seemingly engage in a dialogue with my art, but that is my goal.
