This painting is a secco. Like a fresco which is painted on wet plaster the secco is painted on dry plaster and needs a binding agent, to be honest I see some parts that need my attention but as is my habit not any of my works are finished until they are out the studio door.

I've been using spackle on some of my backgrounds and I add a white glue to it to make it strong.
I learn so much from you DL. the roughness of the secco perfectly complements the toughness of this indoor gladiator.
Terrific! Love that background texture and quality and the green tones in the skin. Powerful!
