My painting of our beloved Karin, I understand that 118 artist got together to paint our fellow artist Karin Jurick and she will be surprised today with a book of those portraits. Jill Polsby put the idea together and it was a pleasure to be apart of it. This one was done on crinkled rice paper that was glued to a canvas panel.

This is wonderful. I love the textural qualities created by your use of the crinkled rice paper.
David! This is so great. Love all the texture and the way you kept her pretty much monochromatic. Lovely work!
Great interpretation, David. Really nice light and dark contrast.
Really cool project to be involved with!! I love your *Karin*!
What a beautiful interpretation, David. I love the expression you've captured of Karin; it just adds a special twinkle!
Great idea with using the rice paper, giving that extra texture. Lovely portrait!
Lovely portrait.
Your composition is one of my favorites in the sea of Karins. Did the board come with the rice paper or did you do that yourself? I love the texture!
I've never thought of gluing rice paper to canvas panel to form texture- neat idea! Very nice color palette you've done in this portrait of Karin.
Your palette makes me think of a Rembrandt portrait. Super work.
Beautiful portrait! So unique, so alive... Karin will be thrilled!
