Dusk 8x10 oil on hardboard in dark wood frame

Love painting people, love trying to paint a mood. I think I learned something here about painting something  red ( save your brightest red for the highlights because trying to brighten with white makes it too pink) $100

Very nice, David. That's how we learn...trial and error. I have used yellow to brighten reds. Someone else told me to do that.

Wow...there could be a whole novel behind this image. I love paintings like this. What/who is she looking at, is that why she's gripping her pocket with her left hand? Is she alone? In this dreary, fog ladden land? I love it!

Wowsers, David. I love this piece. I love the style of her coat. I sense a fear in her, as if she is running from something or someone. The background is perfect and rather mood setting along with her expression.
